Peer Review Process

  • Manuscript is submitted to the journal website. This includes: filling in the information form, uploading the manuscript in the required format, submitting the Authorship Form and Conflict of Interests Form.
  • Manuscript is screened by the journal’s Editor-in-Chief. The manuscript would be returned to the author for structural revisions, or rejected if it does not fit the scope of the journal.
  • Similarity check: the manuscript will be rejected in case of any un-/intended plagiarism.
  • Manuscript is assigned to 2 expert reviewers.
  • Manuscript is assessed by the reviewers and the final decision is sent over to the EiC to inform them of the quality and quantity of the manuscript.
  • Following the assessment, the reviewers’ comments will be discussed in the Editorial Board meeting. Four cases may arise:

     a. If the manuscript is accepted by both reviewers and confirmed by the EB members, it will be accepted.

     b. If the manuscript is rejected by both reviewers, it does not go further steps and is returned to the author.

     c. If revision is requested by at least two reviewers, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision.

     d. If the reviewers fail to reach an agreement, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer for further assessment.

  • The revised manuscript will be sent to the final reviewer.
  • The final decision of reviewer is announced--whether the manuscript is accepted or rejected.
  • In accordance with the regulations issued by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, the journal does not charge any fee for screening the manuscript. For manuscripts that are accepted after review, authors should pay the following editing and publishing charges:
  1. Research article: 6/000/000 IRR
  2. Promotional article: 3/500/000 IRR
  3. Review article and book review: 1/500/000 IRR
  • The exact date of publication for accepted manuscripts depends on the number of confirmed manuscripts.
  • All the steps of assessing a manuscript is double blind, that is neither the authors nor the reviewers know each other.
  • On average, the screening process takes less than 10 days. Final review will take two to three months.
